Come join us as Beverton Lecture Theatre (Main Building, Park Place, Cardiff University, CF10 3AT) for a talk from our wonderful Palestinian visitors; Abu Rafat Odeh al Qadi, a producer from Mazara’ al Noubani village, and Manal Abdallah, the Promotion & Media coordinator at Canaan Fair Trade. Our guests work at the heart of Fair Trade, the beginning of a chain with many links, and have incredible tales to tell. The talk will be followed by a Q&A, and there will then be time for people to meet and chat with our guests. Come along for an interesting afternoon!

A few extra details about Zaytoun:

“Zaytoun is a Community Interest Company founded in 2004 to create and develop a UK market for artisan Palestinian produce. The company is a cooperative, and a member of the World Fair Trade Organization.

In addition to the flagship Fairtrade olive oil and olives, Zaytoun sells Medjoul dates, Fairtrade almonds, Maftoul, olive oil soap and the Palestinian herb mix “Za’atar”.

Zaytoun endeavors to keep costs low in order to maximise the income from sales that goes back to Palestinian communities.

Experience the great taste of Palestine. Delicious artisan produce. Ethically sourced, fairly traded and organically grown. Available via Oxfam, Traidcraft and independent retailers.”
