Fair Trade Cardiff

Current opportunities

Web/social media officer: Are you sociable, online savvy and most of all passionate about Fair Trade? Then why not help us raise awareness in Cardiff. The web/social media officer will volunteer around 1-2 hours a fortnight. You will need to have an understanding of computers and websites.  Work is carried out at home, so access to a computer and the internet is required. If you’re interested, email us at fairtradecardiff@gmail.com or use our Get in Touch page.

Press and content officer: We are looking for someone who is interested in telling our Fair Trade stories. If you have some experience, knowledge or study of working with the press and media then please get in touch. The role includes attending meetings and producing content several times a year. This is particularly important around Fairtrade Fortnight and the International Food and Drink Festival. Work is carried out at home, so access to a computer and the internet is required. If you’re interested, email us at fairtradecardiff@gmail.com or use our Get in Touch page.

– Member

You can be a member of Fair Trade Cardiff as an individual or an organisation. Being a member includes coming to Fair Trade Cardiff meetings, where we work together to help achieve our action plan. Examples include working with schools, ordering materials, helping at stalls and talking with businesses, community organisations and the Council. We have around four meetings a year to help plan our work. Members are required to attend a total of two meetings or events each year.

Committee

Members elect the committee each year at our AGM. The committee can have up to three positions which are:

  • Chair
  • Treasurer
  • Secretary

We currently have a vacancy for Secretary. The Secretary ensures the smooth running of the group. Therefore roles include booking in dates and venues for meetings and attending meetings and taking accurate minutes. Depending on the time available, monitoring the Fair Trade Cardiff inbox can also be included.

Fair Trade Wales

Fair Trade Wales coordinates and supports Fair Trade activities across the whole of Wales and is based in Cardiff.
